Symmons Plains Raceway is located on the Midlands Hwy some 30k south of Launceston. The 2.4 km track requires the competitor to have a vehicle that is both fast, handles well and has good brakes as the track is designed to test all three. The track is known for several interesting features including its very long back straight with a kink and its extremely tight hairpin bend at the end of the front straight.

Symmons Plains recently received a $3 million upgrade, including state of the art pit facility with fully air conditioned corporate suites and conference rooms of varied sizes. This facility now represents one of the best motoring event facilities anywhere in Australia.
