Christ Church in Longford is open to the public to tour on weekdays from 10am - Noon, from October to March.
Christ Church Anglican church is one of Australia's oldest church and burial grounds. The first corner stone was laid by Lieutenant-Governor Sir John Franklin on 16 March 1839 and was completed in 1844.
The burial ground was consecrated by Bishop Nixon in 1851 but the church had to wait until 1882 when it was out of debt for its consecration by Bishop Bromby.
The magnificent organ was purchased in 1893 at a cost of 346 pounds.
