Kempton

Memorial Arch, Kempton

Just off the highway, this is a well-preserved and quaint colonial village with some beautiful examples of early domestic architecture.

Wander amongst the gravestones in the grounds of St. Mary's Church and see if you can find the name Elizabeth Flexmore - she came out on the First Fleet.

The Wilmot Arms Inn is another fine example of a colonial coaching inn.  It is rumoured that one of its early proprietors, having found religion, decided not to offer liquor on his premises any more and fed all his spirits to his pigs!

Kempton has several shops for collectibles including antiques and old books.

Dysart House is one of the town's most impressive private homes.
