Tasmania's Heritage Highway Community Road Safety & Tourism Initiative

The Heritage Highway Tourism Region Association's latest tourism product was showcased today at the launch of the Northern Midlands Community Road Safety Partnership in Campbell Town.

The Heritage Highway Road Safety Coffee Cupholder project is the result of collaboration between DIER's Road Safety Branch and the Heritage Highway Tourism region Association. The cupholders will be placed around takeaway coffee cups by food businesses in the Heritage Highway Region. The brightly coloured cupholders provide a catchy road safety message "Don't be history on the Heritage Highway" as well as a photo of a local attraction and a tourism message.

The project aims to increase awareness of the dangers of fatigue and inattention, and encourages travellers to further explore the rich heritage in the historic heart of Tasmania.

The Northern Midlands Community Road Safety Partnership was launched by the Minister for Infrastructure, Graeme Sturges, accompanied by Mayor Kim Polley.
